The flame guide helps to protect your stove by acting as a buffer between the flame and interior of the unit. The flame guide is considered a “wear part” and will need to be replaced when it begins to show signs of deterioration.  If you notice warping, cracks forming or excessive flaking of the metal, the flame guide should be replaced.
