Castle Serenity Pellet Stove Igniter. The Igniter / Hot Rod works by superheating the air that passes through the burn pot. This super-heated air comes in contact with the pellets causing ignition. Typically, it takes the igniter around 2-2½ minutes to reach its max temperature and begin to glow.
